Delivering Solutions To Meet Restrictions of Space
Four interconnecting Kingspan Modline water tanks were installed to manage stormwater at the surgery.
Kingspan worked with the project’s building supervisor to develop a suitable tank system, assisting with specification and design after a site inspection. This resulted in the builder saving on costs as our account manager identified that only four Modline tanks were required (instead of six Slimline tanks, which were originally specified).
The Challenge
Due to restrictions of space, the tank system’s footprint was very important. This brought up challenges including:
The Solution
To meet hydraulic specifications and to manage all roof rainwater run-off, the system provides a total capacity of 18.2kL and does not retain water. Instead the tanks are used for detention purposes only. Each tank also had high level 100mm emergency overflows strategically fitted so pipework would not encroach into the fire escape corridor. To match the building’s exterior, tanks were supplied in Colorbond Surfmist.
