On September 15th, L&P Architects Design Director, Jaenes Bong, was invited by Hubei University of Technology, to give a webinar for the final year students. The topic of the talk focuses on the Synthesis of Civicism and Commercialism in Modern Architecture, in which the talk illustrates how to design a people-centric commercial project.
Amid the pandemic, Professor Sam Cho Chung Man, the director of Future Design Lab in the university highlighted the need in bridging the academic with the actual practice. L&P Architects is consistently supportive for helping to cultivate the young talents in any sort of mechanism. With the travel border still remains closed, the use of digital means such as conducting a webinar becomes the effective way to keep up with the communication – specially to support the young upcoming designers.
A similar challenge is also faced in designing a commercial project like retail. In the event of the digital era, retail development faces fierce competition from the online shops. Facing this challenge, Jaenes Bong took the opportunity to share his design experience with L&P Architects on how to provide the physical lifestyle experiences that cannot be replaced by digital means.
