About Alape

All Alape basins and washstands are manufactured from glazed steel. This characteristic material for Alape opens up a fascinating variety of shapes, surfaces and dimensions with unique precision. Glazed steel is light, but extremely robust. The compound material is harder than granite or emerald and sets itself apart thanks to its impact resistance.

Since the company was formed in 1896 by Adolf Lamprecht in Penig, Germany, Alape has committed itself to permanent innovation. Right through to the present day, the company considers optimising shaping and enamelling technology, and developing high-quality and aesthetic washplace solutions to be of utmost importance. Alape has been a Dornbracht Group brand since 2001.

More than 200 employees work at two locations in Goslar, Germany, to create washplace solutions and manufacture them intricately.

About GC

We started in 1996 by providing bathroom and kitchen solutions through the company GEA Building Supplies Sdn Bhd, introducing into the Malaysian market renowned brands from Germany; such as Dornbracht, Villeroy & Boch, Alape, Hoesch, Zeyko and more.

In 2006, the business was acquired by Germany’s biggest bathroom wholesaler, GC-Gruppe to form the company GC Building Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd. GC-Gruppe was founded in 1921 in Bremen, Germany by August Cordes & Alfred Graefe. They founded Cordes & Graefe oHG, which initially sold only one product - tubes.

Over the years, through forward-looking ideas and the deliberate expansion and constant progress, GC-Gruppe is now the market leader in building technology wholesale and Germany's largest bathroom solution provider. In 1995, with the opening of the first online stores in the sector, GC-Gruppe is today a pioneer in e-business.
