With the development of material technology these days, architects and interior designers are enabled to deliver designs of various ambiance and forms. In many cases, this convenience ends with instant designs, which are done without thoughtful considerations and only to pursue trending looks and forms. It is no wonder that many designs these days are alike, if not, mundane, and at times without a context.

For the 2019 Fuorisalone in Milan, 2×4 partnered with Samsung to produce
the ’24hr. Kitchen’. The installation celebrated the centrality of the
kitchen in everyday life. Comprised of three abstracted kitchens with
three distinct environments: morning, day and evening. Stitching these
environments together was the central element of the exhibition, a
ribbon-like, 60-meter long counter that wound its way through the
various spaces.

Around the world countries are grappling with the COVID-19 outbreak, and in Asia, local governments have put measures in place to curb the spread. Hong Kong was impacted early on and issued a quarantine order on 8 February 2020. Singapore was quick in detecting and responding to the cases and has been thorough in regulating its spatial use since then. Malaysia has issued a Movement Control Order since March 2020. Indonesia has recently followed suit with its Government Regulation Number 21 Year 2020 about Large-Scale Social Distancing to regulate localised movement.

Andra Matin, an Indonesian architect whose work has just been shortlisted in the 2019 Aga Khan Awards, is a prominent figure not only among practitioners in the industry but also among the general public. His works are very diverse and spread in various regions in Indonesia. They are often put in the spotlight by both architectural media and the mass media.

Commenced in 2016, Bluprin continues its vision to take part in improving architecture and interior design in Indonesia within the digital scope. Bluprin began as a platform that connects architects and fellow designers with the public for various needs of design works and renovation. Currently, Bluprin has more than 3,000 professionals with at least 8,500 uploaded projects. In the development, Bluprin also enables construction material suppliers to promote their products and now the platform offers more than 15,000 products from various categories to be explored.
