How to Create an Intimate Space with the Industrial Styling of Wovenpanel®

With epic views of Lake Taupō taking centre stage, the design approach for Pub n Grub called for a unique solution to accentuate, rather than dominate the interior. This is where the antique brass finish of Wovenpanel® Chadwell really shines. The open pattern of wire mesh was used to create subtle partitions while maintaining the panoramic views. This rare blend of style and functionality comes together to create a relaxed atmosphere for patrons to enjoy.

Designer, Trace Beaumont-Orr, further complimented this industrial vibe with the strong linear T-shaped cabinet knobs. This refined quality is emphasised by the ever-popular knurled style. The slightly distressed, weathered finish of the hardware gives it a sense of timelessness. It’s this kind of thoughtful detail that so beautifully pairs with the wire mesh. The resulting ambiance boasts an inviting vibe that encourages guests to stay a while.

This innovative use of Wovenpanel® continues to push the boundaries of New Zealand’s most unique decorative surface. In a space this expansive, it’s challenging to create a sense of cohesive design. Yet, the clever use of these similarly toned antique brass finishes does just that. Each rustic element from the seating booths to the cabinetry advances this industrial theme.

It's not every day we get to dine in such a spectacular setting. By creating an interior that blends with the gorgeous surroundings, this project stands apart as a brilliant success.
