Designed to replace the ageing Ministry of Health facilities, the National Institutes of Health or NIH aims to be Malaysia’s first integrated advanced medical research complex within a single consolidated address.
Comparable to similar research centres in the United States and Singapore, this successful public-private partnership initiative over 42-acres of land in Setia Alam, Selangor consists of 7 distinct research institutes, complete with state-of-the-art laboratories and shared facilities, as well as temporary and permanent living spaces. Every facility is easily accessible to encourage healthy collaboration and dissemination of ideas between medical researchers and practitioners.
The NIH received the ‘Silver’ award under the Public & Institutional category at the recent PAM Awards.
